Art education in schools

Art education is one of the most important part of education because it is the only subject which allows the students to use their right brain therefore become creative.Art promotes different kinds of thinking that Math and Language Arts classes, for example, cannot. A study found that “visual-spatial abilities, reflection, self-criticism, and the willingness to experiment and learn from mistakes” are skills that seem to be taught only in art classes . Art education provides an outlet for students to make connections to other subject matter and provides students with projects that allow for personal interactions with the subject and its activities. The process of studying and making art permits personal satisfaction, recognition in society, a connection to the past, and an avenue that allows personal opinion to be expressed visually. These factors promote intrinsic motivation, which, for some, can lead to motivation in other areas in school as well.
